Immanuel Lutheran College Council

The College Council has responsibility for the overall governance of the school. It acts as the custodian and guardian of the organisation. It is also a source of collective leadership within the school in partnership with the Principal. Its key role is governance not the day-to-day operations of the school, which it delegates to the Principal.

Members of Immanuel College Council include parents, staff and others selected for their professional expertise.

The College Council invites all potential representatives to volunteer their name and curriculum vitae for inclusion in the register, from which new members can be selected to maintain the balance of the Council when vacancies occur.  Applicants must be supportive of the ethos and values of Lutheran Education and Immanuel Lutheran College.

Immanuel Lutheran College is a member of the Lutheran school’s system in Queensland and is a District school owned by the Lutheran Church of Australia Queensland District (LCAQD).  Confirmation of appointments to the College Council are made by LCAQD.

Expressions of Interest

Immanuel Lutheran College, established in 1979, is the oldest co-educational independent school on the Sunshine Coast. Located on Wises Road, Buderim, the campus is surrounded by thick rainforest and has the added benefits of coastal views. The College currently services more than 900 learners in a P-12 context.

Our core values play a vital role in underpinning the opportunities we offer each student within our school community. Immanuel strives to provide an environment where students are valued as individuals, where they are inspired to learn and where they can follow the pathway that is right for them. As we strive to meet the needs of each student, we ensure that the essential values of respect, care, trust and empathy are the hallmarks by which our actions meet our Mission.

We are seeking people willing to contribute to the ongoing development of education on the Sunshine Coast by investing their time and skills as a College Council representative. The position of College Council Member is honorary and voluntary, and does not carry any remuneration.
